APPROVED CECs

For recertification, we approve contiuning education credits.  Please see below what is accepted.

FHAA COURSES

These CECs vary and may be applied to your renewal of an existing NART certification. To qualify as continuing education credits, the course must be successfully completed.

These courses are found HERE

STUDY QUIZZES

We offer Study Quizzes to supplement your CECs. Each quiz will have a study associated with it. Simply peruse the study and take the quiz.

Each Study Quiz will yield 1 CEC. These quizzes are found HERE. It is important to note that the NART does not own the intellectual property of the papers and are for public viewing.

WORKSHOPS, SEMINARS AND CONFERENCES

CECs for these types of activities will vary based on the number of approved contact hours. Proof of attendance and CEC verification documents are required. Requirements include: 1) Attendance of course; 2) Certificate of Completion.

One hour will equate to one CEC

3RD PARTY COURSES

We have approved 3rd party providers that offer credits for continuing education courses related to fitness, health and/or nutrition which are acceptable toward NART certification renewal.

These courses are found HERE

COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY COURSES

Students may submit college or university level courses in a related field for CEC approval. One college course worth three credits is equivalent to 8 CECs.

Requirements include:

  • Courses must fall within a related fitness and nutrition field. Examples include, but are not limited to: exercise science, anatomy, biomechanics, nutrition science, physiology, etc. General education classes are not acceptable credits toward certification renewal.

  • Copy of college transcript must be included with Recertification Form (unofficial transcript is acceptable.)

WHAT THE FHAA REQUIRES

We require 25 CECs for certification renewal. One contact hour will equate to 1 credit.

As you may notice, when looking at courses from other organizations, they may refer to them as Continuing Education Units (CEUs). This term is interchangeable.

Additionally, the NART goes off a whole number system versus a decimal system. Credits earned from an organization that uses a decimal system will count as a whole number. For example, if you take a course that has 0.2 CECs, then this will qualify as 2 CECs in the NART. Therefore, in the decimal system, 2.5 CECs is equivalent to 25 CECs for certification renewal.
